A KUIU VETERAN & GOLD STAR FAMILY HUNT PRODUCTION

In September of 2023, KUIU teamed up with the Three Rangers Foundation to give back to our Veteran and Gold Star Family Community, providing an all-inclusive moose hunt with OMM Outfitters. The recipient, Chris Vogeler is a Gold Star Brother and former Army Ranger who deployed to combat as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

This hunt honored his late brother, SFC Lance Vogeler who was killed in action on October 1st, 2010, in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan. SFC Vogeler was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, he was serving on his 12th combat deployment when he paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Follow along as Chris goes deep into the thick hardwoods of Northern Maine with Nathan Theriault and the team from OMM in search of a trophy moose. Watch as he comes face-to-face with a notoriously famous giant, they called the Cross Bull. Chris makes a tough shot to end the three-year debate of just how big the bull really is.
