PRO Merino Shirt

"The fit and the color of this shirt is great, as advertised. Hard to tell online which shirts are best for the temperature throughout the year, but I will continue to buy different types, depending on sales."

Timoteo C. (5/5)

David C. (5/5)

A must have layering item

"Extremely lightweight and the fabric is very comfortable . Excited to take into the fall and winter . Currently use an older Firstlite Merino hoody but this will bridge the gap between early season on chilly evenings and late season mid layer . Combining this with the peloton vest and I’m set for almost everything ."

Andre G. (5/5)

The Gear I Trust in the Field

"Warmth and breathability - especially during activity. As a willife and nature photographer, I need to trust my gear; KUIU products are my go-to for functionality, weight, and performance. Every detail (thumb loops, zipper pull, durability ) makes the investment worthwhile - because when conditions shift - you have peace of mind knowing the garment will outperform others."

Eric G. (5/5)

Not durable

"very disappointed with the quality. I only wore it around the house a couple of times and once to the movies, it hasn't even been into the field yet. Despite such light use, it already has at least three places where the fabric has pulled and threads are coming loose! It is warm."

Peter k. (2/5)

Usually wear a size large

"Usually wear a size large with all Kuiu clothing but got the medium with this shirt and it fits perfect. I also have a large and it fits well."

Hector M. (5/5)

Very warm for the weight. Super comfortable.

"This is my second Pro Merino 200 and I love them! They are surprisingly warm for the weight and are super comfortable against your skin. I have worn it as an outer layer but they snag easily and I wouldn't recommend doing any sort of bush whacking when worn as an outer. As a mid layer under rain gear or any other dedicated outer layer they are awesome!"

Jeremy B. (5/5)

Good value and comfortable.

"Great Shirt, zip runs well and fabric feels good on the skin."

Will C. (5/5)

Great performance.

"Great over a base layer. Kept warm in 50 degree weather. Moisture dried quickly and it easily stored in the day pack once the temp exceeded 60 degrees. I’ve since purchased a brown version that is great on evening walks/hikes. I’m typically a 2xl in most brands but the 3xl was a better fit in KUIU."

Trent K. (5/5)

Great product. Color is off

"Love the fit and comfort. I’m a little disappointed the color is not like in the product photos."

Q&A

So does this have a hood or not? The pics on the page show it with a hood and pics without. Thanks.
The Pro Merino 200 Zip-T does not have a hood, but we do also offer the Pro Merino 200 Zip-T Hoodie which does have a hood
Is this the warmest base layer you have?
This is more of a mid layer than a base layer. That said, it is soft enough to worn next-to-skin. You might want to consider wearing the ULTRA Merino 145, which is our heaviest base layer, and wear the PRO Merino 200 over the top as a mid layer.
