Fantastic coat

"Fantastic coat! Great warmth to weight ratio. Not bulky, and can be worn under my guide jacket"

Kenai Jacket

"Its down and still quiet! Havent had much of a chance to use it yet, but it was comfortable in 5° temps with a merino 145 and strongfleece 200 under it. It was only for a short time shooting my bow though."

Ryan B. (5/5)

I would probably give it

"I would probably give it 5 stars if I did not have to buy the camo to get it without a hood."

Great Mid Layer

"Kenai jacket works great as layer under a windproof uninsulated outer layer (different brand). It's not very wind resistant on its own, but quieter than I anticipated and has some stretch. Quiet enough for bowhunting. Smooth surface makes it easy to slide over base layers and under outer layer. It's lightweight and packs well. It made a big difference in 20 degree late season bowhunting weather. It made my 30 degree suit w/ base layers into a 18-20 degree suit. Runs on the slightly on the small side (very athletic fit so trim waist/belly), but that minimizes bunching and helps with layering."

It’s my favorite jacket to

"It’s my favorite jacket to wear anytime"

Kenai Warmth

"Have had the best for years and wanted the jacket. Very warm jacket. Packs down and easily fits into pack. Used as a standalone jacket on non windy days. Size was spot on."

Donald R. (5/5)

Awesome jacket

"This jacket is great it’s very warm when moving the wind resistance is great it’s been 20°F in the mountains and I’ve had to take it off while moving due to getting a little too warm! When you’re sitting it does cool off a lot but still very good. My only complaint is the outer material is prone to getting pulls when it comes to briars and tree bark but the rip stop material has held up well."

Im Mad

"I’m mad because I didn’t buy this a long time ago. This is a must have for cold weather active hunts. I can wear these with a light base layer on as a mid layer or I can wear these directly on my skin."

Nicholas J. (5/5)

Great choice.

"So far I really enjoy my Kenai jacket. I’ve only had the chance to wear it once out in the field. In Arizona the weather can change at the drop of a hat. High 40’s in the morning and 60’s by late morning. I wasn’t cold in the early hours or hot in the later hours of the morning. Very lightweight, comfortable, and very pack able. I will say it’s not the most durable when it come to AZ unforgiving brush but it held up quite nicely."

Robert I. (5/5)

Good Quality

"I've worn this in the field a few times now, and I pair it with the Axis Hooded Jacket. It's not as good at insulating as I thought it would be, but maybe I'm just a colder person in general or chose the wrong mid-layer jacket. It's kind of hard to decide without testing everything you buy."

Q&A

Which would be a warmer mid layer, Strongfleece 290 or Kenai?
While both are very warm pieces, the Kenai is the warmer option
What is ya'lls best warm hunting jacket and pants that is waterproof for cold weather that is flexible, no noise that is the best for bow shooting from a tree and is washable anddo you have to wear a vest to keep you warm? Also, the same kind of pants?
We recommend our Encounter & Proximity for bow hunting. Layering examples can be found in the link below: https://www.kuiu.com/blogs/layering-system/whitetail-deer-hunting-layering-system
I measured around 44 chest size. Im 5"9 around 198lbs. Would you suggest large or xl for Kenai Jacket.
You'll want to order the size that corresponds to your largest measurement, so you'll want an XL
