Reviews

Excellence, pure excellence

"Excellent Jacket, little features all over the jacket that make it superior to EVERY OTHER COMPANY. Bought a size larger to fit over their super ultra down coat. Follow their fit chart. I like a little extra room under the arms."

Stephen C. (5/5)

After returning 80 percent of

"After returning 80 percent of what I bought, Kuiu sent me larger sizes. (LG to XL) I thought they sizes ran small. Thanks Kuiu customer service. Can't wait to try all of them out, including the Yukon TR Rain Jacket."

Ray Y. (5/5)

Well made and perfect fit.

"I haven't had a chance to wear it under a good test case yet, but I can tell it's very well made; should survive the torture I'm going to put it through."

Randy W. (5/5)

Love this heavy duty rain coat!

"Really love this heavy duty rain coat. I have the women's lighter rain coat but wanted this one for moose hunting. It is a bit big for me but I like that it goes down my thighs a bit and can go over warmer layers."

Challene S. (5/5)

I ordered size large and

"I ordered size large and it was way too small. I tried to return the items ( pants and jacket ) and there were no xl sizes available until late October. My Alaska moose hunt is in September. I followed the size chart that was suggested."

Robert N. (1/5)

Better than Kutana, but still noisy material

"The material is still a bit noisy for bowhunting. The wrist sleeves are extremely tight. The fit, features, and noise level is better than the Kutana Storm Shell originally purchased. That product needs work: extremely loud for bowhunting, the hood fit is terrible, and pocket sizes small and lack thereof on the pants made me return it. Overall, the value for Kuiu for the price paid is still too high. They would not let me give an honest rating for Kutana Storm Shell."

Michael Z. (3/5)

Sleeve cuffs

"The sleeve cuffs are way to tight. It's tough getting my hands through them and if my hands are wet I'll probably use the jacket as an umbrella. Because there's no way I'll get my hands through."

Joe L. (4/5)

Rain gear

"Dis order another jacket XL that was too small. Re-order a XXL that fit perfectly."

Yannick C. (5/5)

Basic rain gear with trendy camo!

"It was supposed to be a soft shell quiet rain gear. Instead it is way over priced regular rain gear that runs small with a trendy camo pattern. They aren't in regular stores because no one would buy it!."

Ryan P. (2/5)

Great jacket, except…

"Great jacket, looks good, fits good, except the neoprene sleeve. I struggled to fit my wrists through the tight cuffs. To take off I had to turn the sleeves inside out. Even then, it took considerable effort to pull through. If it wasn’t for the squeeze on my cuffs, I would have been happy with the jacket. Instead, I returned it and purchased the Kutana, which I am very happy with. The Kutana turned out to be the better option for me."

Q&A

Would this jacket be compatible with a ski helmet? Looking at this jacket for multi use ski/hunting. Thanks in advance.
Smaller hemets would likely work, but might be a little tight. The Kutana Gale Force Hooded Jacket has a larger hood that is specifically designed to be paired with helmets
I would just like to know how waterproof this truly is. I live in florida and the rain here is always intense downpours and I hike a lot. how long does it take for this jacket to wet out?
The Yukon TR is a great jacket for your needs! It was specifically designed for moose hunts in Alaska where it might be raining every single day and you will need to wear the gear constantly. It is my go-to option if there will be heavy rain/storms!
