Reviews

Great hunting Vest!

"Great pack! The bottles are well positioned to be free of shooting lanes, a touch posterior so grabbing them when full takes focus. The ammo pouches are solid, well positioned and don’t spill. Game pouch is very well done. No hassles dropping birds in while on the move. Back support is great, wears easy and overall great set up. Only one note, because of the great back support the pack doesn’t pack down very small, so traveling with you will need a longer pack/bag."

Almost perfect

"Shell pocket flaps get in the way. I had to fold them back out of the way for quick access to shells. The water bottles are just a couple of inches too far back to be comfortable when layered up for cold weather. Waist and chest straps are in the correct spot. Great padding in the right places. Carries weight well with large game bag. 👍"

These vests are perfect for

"These vests are perfect for what we do. We hint, but also train bmour bird digs every year to keep them fresh. These vests cover it all. Enough room for multiple birds, pockets in all the right places, and don't get me started on the comfort. Great product for the upland hunter. Well built and thought out."

Great Vest

"Guiding or hunting for myself, this vest meets every need. Very spacious game pouch and the bottle holders are perfect for tall or stubby bottles. Comfortable for long periods of upland hunting."

Right On Kuiu

"Overall great fit once I made adjustments for my height and belt straps. The waist belt is very supportive and once adjusted right there is very little weight or strain on your shoulders. So different than my old traditional vest. I had four birds plus two bottles and felt much lighter than what I’m used to. Water bottle placement is very reachable. I’m going to add either Velcro or snaps to the inside of the upper back pouch panel so that the vest fits closer to me when the bird pouch is empty. The shell pockets are good sized. I liked the magnet closers on two other brands that I looked at, but the Velcro on these pockets is good - not overdone like some Velcro is. I like the shell loops within the pockets. Felt the cell phone pocket is great to have and very secure, but too tight for quick access and found that I didn’t use it often if I was grabbing my phone for taking pics of birds and dogs. Overall I really like the vest and made my fellow hunters a little envious on our first trip. Lots of open comparison to Scheels, Chief, Tenzing. All great vests but this one is the clear winner."

Love it

"Great bird vest. Bought as a retirement present for a client and had it embroidered with logo and name."

Looks Good

"Haven't really had a chance to use it for its intended purpose yet. In true KUIU fashion it appears to be very well built and purposeful. Looking forward to putting it thru its paces this upcoming season."

Nathan H. (5/5)

It’s perfect

"It’s perfect, even the water bottles it comes with are perfect fit. Great quality bird hunting vest. I thought it was expensive but after getting it, it’s way better than some others I tried on. I can’t say it’s a bargain, but it’s definitely built well and feels like it’ll hold up for my life time anyway. So enough with those crappy zip up ones that fit like crap, this the one fir serious bird hunters."

Joseph N. (5/5)

Good design with a few limitations

"The vest fits great and distributes the weight really well, but it's hard to reach the pockets and water bottles. Especially trying to put a bottle back in it's holder after removing it."

Preditor Vest

"This vest works awsime for storing your gear for preditor hunting. The game bag portion is the perfect size for an e caller"

Q&A

I am 6"1 215lbs with 35" waist, feel like I am right between your sizes. Been looking through reviews for comparisons and see guys my size buying both sizes. Typically like my cloths snug, I presently own your Axis Thermal Hybrid in size large fits great. What size do you recommend?
The Medium/ Large size should work great for you!
The 2 32oz bottles do not squirt water like it should. The piece of rubber in the cap is not sitting down like it should. Is there a solution for this?
Please file a warranty claim using the link below so that we can look into this further for you. https://www.kuiu.com/pages/warranty-form
It looks like the shell holders are Velcro closures. Do you see an upgrade to using magnetic closures anytime soon. My experience with Velcro through brush is never a good one
We have not been informed of any changes coming, but we would be happy to notify the development team that there is interest!
I'm right at 36-38 waist. That said, what would be best size to purchase M/L or XL/XXL? Want to be able to wear in multiple conditions from hot in a T-Shirt to cold in heavy jacket. I'm 6'0" 250 lbs. and usually wear XXL in your shirts and jackets.
You will want to select the XL/XXL size
