Quality Design

"This is my first down I have ever had. I have not worn it outside and put it through the elements, but from initial observation and inside wear it was warm. Less than 2 minutes of having it on, I was feeling an increase of body temperature. Zippers were quality, material seems really good, a little loud for outerwear, but it is suppose to be a mid-layer, so not concerned about noise as much since it is underneath the outer layer. Really good quality product, thank you Kuiu!"

These jackets are great and

"These jackets are great and they last a long time but just a little bit of care I wear this jacket summer fall, winter and spring, it packs in my smallest compartment on my backpack, but it always keeps me warm. The great part is that it breathes, when the weather turns from cool to warm, it’s unbelievable how the temperature drops simply by unzipping it"

Perfect weight, quiet and good

"Perfect weight, quiet and good fit. Great hunting and overall jacket."

Poor Durability

"Fragile with Poor Customer Support for a brand that prides them self of life of product this was the opposite of that. Few wears in an office environment ended up with a Pin hole and after a few weeks seeing down feathers coming out through stitching. Customer support only recommend patches. Warm, Lightweight but not worth the cost because of durability issues."

Ask me when I return

"Ask me when I return from my New Zealand hunting trip on the 29 of April and I’ll tell you if the $2000,00 worth of KUIU is worth the cost? But I look good going! Lol"

Sizing recommendation

"For those searching reviews for size, I am 6’0”, 190, with an athletic build. I’ve got a bunch of stuff from KUIU, and figuring out sizing is always a struggle. I usually have to order both a L and XL. After trying both, I much prefer the fit of the XL in this jacket. It still fits nicely under their L Chugach, doesn’t constrict movement, and doesn’t feel baggy or too long in the sleeves. Size up on this one."

Super down LT

"Super lite. The weight to warmth is amazing. True to your KUIU sizing. Fits perfectly under a XL Alpine and Axis jacket."

Robert M. (5/5)

Too thin, cheap construction

"Fits nice for trips to town with the wife, but don’t think of this like a down jacket. Must have a sweater underneath or it’s basically useless for warmth. I would have sent right back if I didn’t get it 50% off. Get the Superdown Pro it’s at least 4x thicker and truly gives warmth. The Pro has way better zippers and feels like it could take some abuse (not the case for this jacket, zipper feels cheap as does the jacket). Wouldn’t recommend, looks nice, almost zero warmth and feels like it won’t last a season."

Good fit. Light weight.

"I love this jacket it’s extremely warm and fitting. Very light weight. It’s not something I’d wear as an outer layer as it’s not waterproof and would hold up in the brush but definitely a quick go to jacket for something light duty or an excellent under layer. Great quality. Make sure to have a waterproof outer layer to go over this jacket though."

William C. (5/5)

Could be great.

"I love the fit, style, and weight. However three sections in the mid to lower back have very little down fill in them. After wearing for one day there is no insulation in back . Just outer and inner layer. That leaves a cold spot. I think this coat could be great I just got one that slipped past quality control."

Q&A

How does this compare to the kenai hooded jacket as far as warmth?
The warmth would be about the same as the Kenai. The main difference between the Super Down LT and Kenai is that Kenai is a synthetic insulation intended for use in active situations. Kenai was designed for breathability to help regulate body temperature in cold, active situations.
