"Just got back , from hunting in the artic circle. I purchased the arktuk mittens for my trip. Unfortunately they did not perform as advertised in extremely cold climate. I had to borrow other gloves to be able to continue my hunt. My thumbs froze almost immediately."

Disappointed

"KUIU has sizing issues. I have several of there (pants and) gloves and have learned that I may wear a L or M depending on the fit. I originally got XL thinking I’d wear a glove base layer but the insulation and fit prevent that. I got the L and they were only slightly smaller than the ginormous XLs. Now I have the M and the thumb is too far back and the fingers just curl in the mitten. Every size I have tried is too big to be useful for handling anything. If you want expensive hand-warmers that you’ll need to remove to do anything beyond propping something up these are for you. Weeks wasted with exchanges and a final return."

Worth the price.

"They were not screwing around when they designed these. Without question these are the warmest, highest quality choppers I've ever seen. I ordered the Medium size hoping for a little extra room for a wool base layer glove, they are perfect. Comfortable and toasty with or without the base layer. The nose wipe areas are a brilliant feature. Worth the price IMHO."

Best Winter Mittens Ever

"When I unboxed my new down Arktuk mitt I was surprised at the size of the mitt and the first time I put them on, I knew they were something special. They have plenty of room to wear an internal glove or mitt making them very versatile. I’ve worn military Arctic mitts in Alaska and they performed exceptionally well, but nothing like the Arktuk mittens. I’ve sat in deer stands when it was 7 degrees several hours and my hands never got cold. The mittens have very little dexterity as they’re not intended to be able to shoot, rather , keep your hands warm until you can transition to gloves. Best mittens ever if you operate in very cold extreme conditions."
