"I returned the pack because it didn’t suit my needs how I thought it would, so my review is more of an unboxing. But the pack is very well made, even shoulder straps (I hate that has become something I have to check, thanks GR for always messing that up), and very comfortable. Excellent build quality and harness system."
Great pack but noisy
"I got this as a take-everywhere daypack and I love it. It’s got great features and carries so nice I forget it’s there. Two drawbacks though. It’s really loud. The shoulder straps rub on the waist band and make a creaking noise. No desire to take it archery hunting with that much noise. After a day of shed hunting it had me about to lose my mind hearing it constantly. I wrapped tape around the shoulder straps which dampened it quite a bit. A different fabric on the waist strap at the contact point would easily fix it. I usually don’t get worked up about gear making noise but this would annoy anyone. Also, the main pocket zipper really fights you. Feels like I’m going to pull it off every time. Resolve those two things and it really would be the perfect day pack."

"This is a great day pack. shoulder straps are thick. And it’s a stable fit on your back. Hardly know it’s on there. Small enough You won’t load it with stuff you don’t need. Big enough to fit the stuff you need. Has a place for walking sticks, and a place for binos. All in all very happy with my purchase."
Bad Design for water bladder!
"Overall happy except one major thing. The KUIU branded Platypus water bladder bite tube with a cover doesn't fit through the designed opening. What's the point of having an opening if it doesn't accommodate a product they specifically sell with their logo on it! Disappointed! Called CS and they want me to send them a picture of it not fitting, really??"

Great pack on first trip. A couple suggestions
"Love this pack so far. First trip was an Alaska vacation with some hiking. No hard-core hunting yet. Bought this pack due to its mid-size, removable hip belt and many zippered pockets. All those delivered what I expected. You can never have too many zippered pockets in a pack! 2 suggestions. I'm a little worried about durability on the side / water bottle pockets. I'm someone who hates water bladders and always carry nalgenes in those pockets. They hold very well but mesh it a little light. The 2 little Kuiu label straps on the front on the shoulder straps are a great place to hang your bear spray or similar items. Problem is. . . they're at an angle and make those items hang crooked and bounce around funny. Change them so they are straight across!"

"This is my 6th Kuiu pack, I also own 4 pro frame kits with various bags for guiding and a venture divide 3000. I. purchased this bag to use for carry on and a bug out bag. It looks very smart and has great internal pockets and ability to carry on the exterior. I will likely run this pack without the waist strap, which was very easy to remove. The Ash is a great neutral colour that fits in well with every day use but also doesn't look out of place on the hill if used for hunting."
