"I’m new to Kuiu but made the switch in search of warmth without the weight. At this point, I dropped 4lbs in gear weight by switching from a different brand coat and bibs to Proximity insulated jacket and bibs. Using the layered method I paired a full zip border fleece in large with this XL Proximity jacket. The sizing of the two jackets fit perfectly for me. Three remain before late season whitetail so I cannot provide feedback on the warm or wind resistance of the layered pairing."

Perfect rut gear for saddle hunting.

Q&A

Does this jacket do okay in rain and snow?
It is DWR treated so it will resist light rain and snow well, but will not replace true rain gear if the rain/ snow is coming down hard
Can I buy the hood for this jacket? I was given this as a gift but the hood was not with it.
We unfortunately do not stock extra hoods at this time, but would be happy to pass this along the team so that they are aware there is interest!
I purchased a size xl proximity jacket and feel like it's a bit too big for me. I'm 5'11" 200 and it's just a bit baggy in the belly area and a bit long. I feel like it will get in the way unless I have 2 sweatshirts underneath. if I wash with hot water and dry with heat will it shrink at all or do I need to exchange for a large?
I would recommend purchasing the Large to compare the two side by side and return whichever does not fit best within our 60 day return window. If the Large is too small then you could try shrinking the XL, but I would not recommend that as the first option.
What would be a good mid layer to wear under this, that could also be used as an outer layer in early to mid season northeast tree stand hunting?

I am 1.72 cm tall and weigh 60 kg. The circumference of my chest is around 90 cm with the T-shirt. I want to wear the Kuiu Proximity Jacket as an outer layer. What size do I need?

This can be machine washed in cold water on a normal cycle, and tumble dried on low heat.
