"Very nice shorts. All of the clothes I have purchased had to be returned due to being on the small size. ( attack pants, hoodie, and shorts) The problem with ordering online is not having the ability to try on the product. So instead of ten minutes to try stuff on, it's been 30 days of back and forth in the mail. No fault of Kuiu. Just lack of stores in the Northeast."

Nice color, durable material

"The Kutana Stretch Woven Shorts are very similar to the Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Shorts, which is a huge positive. The fit is comfortable, and the material seems to handle wear very well. However, the waist runs small. In every other brand of short, I wear a 36; for KUIU, I need to order a size 38."

Wow, great shorts for choring, hiking, mtn biking etc

"Amazing fit/finish, sewing quality, etc etc. I like the idea of the primeflex nylon lasting longer. Fabric just doesn't get dirty, most stuff just falls off of it and they stay looking great. 34 is snug on me but comfortable with no belt needed. I would normally wear a 35 in non stretch pants/shorts."

Premature Wear After Just Over a Year

"I bought three pairs of Kutana shorts in 2025 at $109 each. After only 13–15 months, all three are wearing in the same front pocket area from normal use with a cell phone. My Gunmetal pair has a large hole, my Ash pair has a smaller hole, and the third is showing the same wear. KUIU denied my warranty claim as “abrasion” and referred me to a paid repair service. For shorts marketed as abrasion resistant, I expected much better durability."

"These are great shorts this is my second pair I have pairs of the switchback too but they can be warm for shorts and not that breathable the kutanas are great comfortable and loving them especially hiking because they offer the same protection from brush as the pants"

Sporty shortie

"I perfer to have more room then less. When I opened the package and tried them on they were a bit tight im more of a 37 but the choice were 36 or 38 waist so I went down to 36 after a few washes and a day or two of solid yard work they relaxed and started to stretch out and are extremely comfortable. Let alone durability went for a hike down a tight creek river bed and with how slippery it was ended up sliding down the majority of it on my bottom with little stains and wear marks."
