Reviews

Nice to have the jacket with me on the trail.

"Great rain gear. Lightweight and sheds water well. I’m 6’ 200# and it fits just a pinch big, which feels about right as a layer to be able to allow for full range of movements in brush and timber on game trails."

Tough and packable

"Great jacket with full features and it will keep you dry. These do run small so if you plan on layering for later seasons size up. I had one that I sold due to it being too small for any insulation layers under. They have held up well for hard wet north Idaho hunts."

KUIU *10

"I was looking for a quality jacket I could were for a wide variety of situations and had the opportunity to go to a KUIU demo. This was ideal for trying on the jacket and seeing the quality of the materials instead of just ordering online. Could not be happier with my purchase but will go up in size for all other future purchases as I wear my gear a bit looser. No complaints!"

Excellent Rain Jacket

"Was excited for rain for once. Did a great job of keeping me dry during spring bear hunt. Easy to pack and great shell over super down jacket."

Killer rain gear.

"I bought this jacket to replace one from another high-end hunting brand and I'm pretty impressed. Room to move, great features, great material weight, not overly loud (I mean, it's rain gear and it's not going to be ghostly silent. Come on. ) I'm usually between an XL and XXL so went with the larger size. I wanted plenty of room underneath for thicker puffy vests, etc. and it fits how I needed it to."

Stay dry and comfortable

"Quality and fit are excellent. Also, the outer surface is more durable than that of typical rain shells. The jacket and pants work great in rain and snow storms. With a pair of KUIU gators, I have the perfect setup for hiking in the snow. I also use the jacket as a wind shell in cool weather."

Kutana jacket

"Great material. Durable. Runs small. Biggest complaint is that I have a really hard time getting my hands through the sleeves when taking the jacket off. I know this will be an issue in the field."

John F. (3/5)

Sleeve opening

"I traded the XL jacket for a XXL jacket because the sleeve opening was a little small. Only to find that the XXL jacket sleeve opening was small too. Please make the sleeve opening (at the wrist) a little larger for people that are claustrophobic. . . . because the wrist opening has a velcro closure, I feel the wrist opening can have a larger opening. I have larger hands and its very snug trying to get my hands through the opening. I clicked on"runs small" because of the wrist opening on the sleeve."

Kutana Storm Shell Review

"Very nicely made rain jacket. I wore it during recent blizzard and while it does not provide warmth, with several insulating layers underneath I was completely dry after several hours of snow shoveling. As for size, if you expect to use insulating layers, choose a size larger than normal. I'm normally a large, but chose XL and it was a perfect fit."

Q&A

Are the front chest pockets flannel lined for your hands? If not, which waterproof shell is?
The Kutana Storm Shell Jacket does not have fleece lined pockets, but the HD Flex Storm Shell Jacket does for the upper hand pockets!
Which hunting rain gear is the most quiet
The Kutana Storm Shell rain gear is the quietest
What size Katuna Storm Shell should I buy? I have the Peloton 240 in Large which seems perfect but I also have a couple Base Camp Insulated Snap Shirts in medium that are spot on. I'm 5'7" and 160 lbs. It's hard to know from the reviews. Thank you for great products.
We recommend using the sizing guide to take measurements before ordering to ensure the proper fit. But if the large in the Peloton 240 fits, you'd likely be a size large in most of our other mid and outer layers.
Is it quite when stalking through brush or when the sleeve is rubbed against the body of the jacket. Which is the quietest and toughest rain jacket. Am thinking of the katuna
Our most durable rain gear is the Yukon; the Chugach TR is lighter but is as quiet as Yukon
