Cool Gaiters

"Love them. Wore them for a recent deer hunt in Victoria Alps. Great for keeping trousers from tearing on dense brush. Also leeches/ticks from getting into pants legs. Wish these were sankebite resistant though. I'll be getting them reinforced with several layers of 1000+ denier nylon, and maybe some tough plastic sections. We have a lot of snakes in Australia, and I'm sure your American fans would like to avoid rattler bites too."

"I will be testing these out soon. At first glance they are well made. I do wish they had a little more adjustable length on the boot strap. Additionally, my calves are about 18" circumference and they fit just snug, not tight. I wish they had a XXL option. Will update after field trials next week."

Sizing is wonky and Velcro pops easily

"The construction seems solid but the fit is wonky. The button is loose on the calf but barely fits over my boot around the foot area. When walking, the Velcro pops open. I haven’t taken them to the mountains yet but have fears they will snag and pop Velcro open often. XL would be too big around the calf but a small wouldn’t fit over my boot (I’m assuming)."

Great for the quiver!

"These are great to have in my gear quiver and are functioning just as intended. Received original pair and one had hell strap reversed so the velcro would not work. I contacted Kuiu and they quickly sent me a new pair Very impressed with their customer service."

Q&A

I have 18.5” calves and 11 Wide feet. Should the XL fit me, because they fit very tight. Do I just have the adjustment wrong?
You will want them to be tight, yet also comfortable. If you feel they are too tight you might want to look at the Yukon HD Boot gaiters which are offered in an XXL
What size to fit over winter pac boots (size 9)?
They are designed to generally use with hiking boots, so you would likely need to upsize to an XL to fit your pac boots
Are these designed to protect snake bites?
No our gaiters are not rated as snake proof
