Icon 6 8200 Bag and Pack System

"I got the Icon 6 Frame system with the 8200 bag. The frame and suspension is very comfortable. I recently used it pack out an elk. It is very comfortable, quiet, and easy to adjust. I have researched this system for a while now and decided to get it based upon how much thought and detail went into it's design. The straps and buckles are very durable and easy to adjust. The way the shoulder straps and the lumbar support can adjust is very handy. The bag is very spacious. Lots of room for everything and the pockets are designed very well for organizing all your gear. Great for mountain hunting trips and hauling heavy loads. The most comfortable packing system I have ever used."

Best pack.

"Lots of packing space.. and held up packing hind quarters of a moose..also packed out an entire 6’10” black bear. Would like to see more loops for tie downs especially on the side of bag. Best pack I have used in 49 years of hunting Alaska back country."

"First trip was a 4 day elk hunt. I purchased the small frame, for a 32 inch waist. The pack fits well as was easy to adjust for comfort. I appreciate the pockets for a spotter and tripod, in particular when loaded for day hunts."

Superlight and well organized

"Pack fits and wears great. After 6 day western Canada sheep hunt pack developed some small holes in one of the side pockets from 20-60x80 spotter arca swiss mount. Other than that I have had no issues so far. Maybe will have to keep spotter in another spot or just strap it to the exterior of the bag. Will see how the rest of the season goes."

Well built quality pack

"Unreal pack. Lots of storage and pockets for organizing. The straps are comfortable with an 80lb pack on. Quick and easy to remove the bag and install the load shelf. Highly recommend this pack and frame system !"

Great pack

"I haven’t done a full field test yet, but I have loaded the gear I want to carry in it and tried it out. It does a great job of carrying everything and allows for different configurations. It is comfortable when loaded. The improved waist belt is definitely noticeable. Very well made pack."

Disappointed

"I had high hopes for this pack because I’ve loved almost all of my Kuiu clothes but designing packs for women is not in Kuiu’s wheelhouse. I tried contacting customer service both in email and over the phone and it was very apparent that there was very little women involvement in the testing of the packs before they were released. I’m 5’6 with an athletic build and the frame was way too tall for a typical women’s torso size. I returned and went with a different company who makes frames more suitable to women’s bodies. I did end up ordering the men’s pack and it fits my hunting parter good. Only complaint he has is the hip belt slides down with weight in the pack and the lack of compression straps on the frame itself allows for the weight to slide to the very bottom after a few minutes of hiking and offsets the weight distribution"

Backpacking Guide

"KUIU has been my choice of hunting gear for at least 8 years. Recently I became a backpacking guide and I’ve tried a few different packs known in the backpacking community. None could match the performance of my old KUIU pack so when the new Icon 6 came out I had to grab it. Guiding means carrying a heavy pack and the Icon 6 8200 crushes the competition. I’m willing to bet that I’m the only backpacking guide carrying your gear but the word will spread! I just wrapped up a 14 day trip on Baffin Island through the Akshayuk Pass. This was the first outing for my Icon 6. This pack makes extremely heavy loads feel lighter than they are. I highly recommend it anyone who needs a pack no matter if it’s hunting or backpacking. It’s a standout even among KUIUs previous model of pack. Thanks for making outstanding gear. I’ll be spreading the word about KUIU around the globe."
