Reviews

Close to perfect

"Light, robust, relatively quiet fabric. Good ventilation, and works well when layering; the jacket fits well with just a t-shirt, but still fits with a thick wool sweater and a medium downjacket under. I’ve so far used it in relatively cold, rainy conditions around freeezing, with variations in activity, from scrambling to sitting still for hours, and the jacket has kept me relatively dry. The only thing I’m missing, are a some loops for clipping my radio on to, while keeping the antenna out of the way."

Next-level rain gear - Chugach TR

"I am absolutely happy with my Chugach TR rain jacket and pants. They fit just as I had hoped, and passed the initial test in heavy wind and rain. The heat dump zipper placement is new to me and now a feature I look for in all new outdoor gear where I'll be exerting myself."

— Jack C. (5/5)

Great product, highly recommend.

"Wonderful gear. I wish it packed down a little tighter to save pack room but otherwise I recommend this product. I tested it on the mountains of the Bob Marshall on windy days, rainy days and even a snowing day. I hope this product will last."

— Paul E. (5/5)

BAD ZIPPER

"My husband loves the jacket, but the first day he wore it the zipper broke, it wont unzip all the way. He pulls it over his head. I informed the company, they want a video. I find that very annoying, stand behind your product. I would send it back when you replaced it and you can see I'm not lying about the zipper."

Chugach/Northridge

"Just got back from my elk hunt and it drenched on my wife and I. I have the chugach and she’s got the northridge and they both kept us perfectly dry the entire week. The vents were great when hiking and the jacket, although isn’t insulating, kept me warm enough when hiking through the mountains. We ALMOST sent them back to get a larger size to fit slightly looser over a down type jacket but don’t have time before the next hunt. The jacket worked just fine and I can wear it alone without it looking like a trash bag. I bought a large and it fits over my XL kuiu down jacket just fine. Not TOO tight but not loose either. I’m well built with broad shoulders and a larger chest."

— Cody M. (5/5)

Great lightweight jacket

"Have been using the Chugach jacket and pants since early spring this year. My favorite feature with this kit is the weight and feel. I hardly notice that I am wearing rain gear even in the steepest and brushiest terrain. So far, both the jacket and pant seem to withstand abrasion really well. No breathable rain gear will keep you dry if you are not standing still, but the Chugach gear dries quickly and allows for excellent ventilation. The hood is a bit small for windy alpine situations. Chugach is made of a very comfortable fabric."

— Lars-Petter J. (4/5)

TERRIBLE! Way too flimsy, phone pocket is tiny

"I wanted to like this jacket, but it's incredibly flimsy and will shred the first day if I wore it. The chest pocket for a phone is just big enough for a single pack of chiclets, not an actual phone. Returned."

— David S. (1/5)

Checks off every box

"A great light shell that does not compromise the ability to keep you dry, given it's weight. I was impressed by the zippers and fabric not being "loud" when you move around in it."

— Fischer M. (5/5)

First purchase

"Rained today sheds water well, a little longer then most waist length so keeps hips dry Mid weight gortex thinner then Arcteryx and not as noisy Good fit doesn’t bind 5’10” 190 pounds athletic build in a large"

— John W. (5/5)

Chugach rain jacket and pants

"Received it on Friday and then hunted for 7 days straight in the rain, and it was a fantastic rain set. I stayed dry. The zippers made getting in and out very easy and the material is pretty quiet for rain gear. Definitely worth the cost."

— John E. (5/5)
