Reviews

Great Jacket

"I wore this jacket over a 12-day trip through Alaska and Vancouver, and it was absolutely worth the investment. It kept me completely dry through unpredictable coastal weather, both out on the water and walking around the city. It’s incredibly lightweight, packs down to nothing in a daypack, and has the premium build quality you’d expect from Kuiu. Highly recommend if you need reliable rain gear that doesn’t add bulk."

The Rain Jacket I Have Been Looking For

"For some time I have been looking for a rain jacket that fits well, is packable, but more than trash bag thickness, as well as relatively quiet. This one checks all of those boxes! It also has great zippers and pockets, a nicely sized, adjustable hood, and pit zips. All around a great, lighter weight rain jacket!"

Very Lightweight and Waterproof

"Wore this on some very rainy days so far this spring and it repels the water instantly and has never come close to soaking through after being out all day in the rain. Drys very quickly once the rain stops. 5’11”, 175 lbs - Size Large fits loose enough to layer puffy jacket or mid layer if needed."

Great jacket, very comfortable

"I ordered XXL, I don’t like my jackets snug, I like to have a little room. Great jacket, very comfortable, warm, light. I’ve bought 4 of there jackets and they are all light, but built very well. this one is built heavier duty compared to the other ones. This one is great for heavy weather."

Awesome

"Not sure if I’ll ever be done buying Kuiu, but this was the last essential part of my kit that I’ve been putting off for far too long. I’ve had the pants for a while and they are fantastic, lightweight and super low bulk. In my opinion rain pants have to be full length zip for hunting applications. The rain jacket is right on the money as well, light and low bulk, room where it’s needed but not baggy. I was silly for having it ride in my cart for so long. If you’re considering it just pull the trigger, you won’t regret it!"

I really like the coat

"I really like the coat - bought it to replace a 20 year old North Face when I couldnt find another North Face. The one improvement that could be made to the coat - as it comes down on the hips (great for sitting on wet surfaces) but NEEDS to have the double zipper (zipper from the bottom and top). That would make this a great coat."

Fits well works well and quiet

"Great rain jacket. Light and packs down. The material is quiet fits perfectly with good arm maneuvering with no restrictions. Nice addition to the kit."

Norris M. (5/5)

Great light rain jacket

"I was able to wear this for the first time on a fishing trip that I had packed easily into my backpack "just in case". Sure enough a strong squall that lasted about an hour passed over so I pulled it out and stayed completely dry inside and out, partly in thanks to the awesome underarm vents in the Gulf of America's 90+ degree heat. It runs a little small for me as I usually wear a large, but the XL was a little tight with just a thin fishing shirt. For colder weather with some layers, it would be too tight for me. Try one on first!"

High quality

"Quality and fit are good. Seams breathable but I haven’t had it in a good rain yet. Seems perfect for the archery elk hunt or on the river."

Brian S. (5/5)

It’s a great rain jacket.

"It’s a great rain jacket. Very lightweight and water resistant. It’s noisy in a tree stand when moving your arms or trying to draw a bow back. That is the only reason it’s a 4 star instead of a 5, but the quality is great."

Q&A

As is the problem with alot of KUIU gear for me, I am in between sizes. I am currently at 48" at the chest and 42" at the waist. Some of your items I have bought the XL is good and some it is really tight, if I go to the XXL it is huge. What is your suggestion in that area. I do know this is a loaded question. I need to get a rain gear system that is packable and light for a 8 day trip out in Wyoming for High Country Colorado Cutthroat's.
Our rain gear is sized larger than the other layers that are designed to go under the rain gear so you might be able to swing a XL, but generally we recommend sizing up when between sizes
