Reviews

Worth it

"Awesome coat. Little spendy, but worth it. Recently goat caught in a heavy mountain storm, coat kept me totally dry. Quality product. Cut is athletic, ran a little small for me but not crazy."

Dan O. (5/5)

Packable but noisy.

"Very packable and lightweight. Zipper is a tough start. Main reason for exchanging it is the shell is just too noisy. Have loved every other Kuiu product I own!"

Love the jacket but it

"Love the jacket but it is not intended for layers underneath."

Brian S. (5/5)

Top notch

"I’ve been waiting to review until I could actually test this. And today was the day!! I did 5. 4miles today in the pouring rain with a frame pack, 40 degrees. Both the top and bottoms were comfortable and moved extremely well, and most importantly I was bone dry when I got back. Internal moisture from just getting hot was very manageable. Definitely the best rain gear I’ve had. I’m 5’11 190 w/larger shoulders and chest Large fits perfect with 2 layers under"

Chugach TR Rain Jacket | Verde

"Love the jacket and pants, used it twice waterfowl hunting. Flexible, not noisy, and kept me 100% dry. Have 3 trips (Elk bow, elk rifle and Mule Deer) booked and will provide additional feedback. However, i did notice very different sizes on Kuiu's rain jackets. I was planning on buying the Kutana jacket but the fit was terrible. Tight in the shoulders, arms and wrists. Seems like it was from two different companies"

Good but needs a review of some materials

"Having issues with the tape used to seal the seams on the interior of the jacket coming off after regular use. Also the Kuiu logos are peeling off. We are using this jacket as a daily wear rain jacket issued to pest control technicians working in the Vancouver BC Canada area. The jacket overall is keeping our guys dry, we have had to complete 2 warranty replacements so far, potentially a couple more soon due to the seam tape failure, but Kuiu does stand behind their product and warranty has not been an issue."

Seth H. (5/5)

Amazing rain gear. It works!

"Amazing rain gear. It works! Light weight and breathable plus a good wind breaker."

Rick H. (5/5)

Too loud

"Everything I get from you guys is awesome , but this one jacket was just ok It should be a less noisy material and softer material"

Michael S. (3/5)

Chugach rain jacket

"Excellent workmanship, well made, light and comfortable. Quiet for a rain jacket and waterproof. Jacket breathes well. Follow the size recommendations of Kuiu."

Q&A

As is the problem with alot of KUIU gear for me, I am in between sizes. I am currently at 48" at the chest and 42" at the waist. Some of your items I have bought the XL is good and some it is really tight, if I go to the XXL it is huge. What is your suggestion in that area. I do know this is a loaded question. I need to get a rain gear system that is packable and light for a 8 day trip out in Wyoming for High Country Colorado Cutthroat's.
Our rain gear is sized larger than the other layers that are designed to go under the rain gear so you might be able to swing a XL, but generally we recommend sizing up when between sizes
