"I know a lot of folks buy premium gear like KUIU for hunting out West or tackling more demanding hunts, but squirrel hunting is my passion, and I want THE perfect gear for the job. The fit is perfect without being bulky. It’s ideal for sitting, stalking, or still-hunting squirrels. "I’ve been hunting in the mountains of Tajikistan, where conditions can be extremely windy, cold, and unpredictable. This jacket has performed exceptionally well. It keeps me warm, provides excellent wind protection, and remains lightweight and comfortable during long days in the mountains. The quality, durability, and fit are outstanding. Axis Hybrid Jacket.

"I have not had a chance to where it hunting. But I purchased one of your axis hybrid vests before you did away with them. And I love it. It is super warm I wore it in the snow the last 2 years and was sweating and warm. I can't wait to try out the coat. I think you need to bring back the vests it would be a really smart move on Kuiu part."

Great quality, poor variety of fitment.

"Excellent quality. My only drawback is that at 6’2” and 170lbs, a medium is barely long enough and has a lot of wiggle room. A large is plenty long but fits like a trash bag. KUIU doesn’t seem to excel at fit in items for slimmer individuals. It’s such a shame as the quality is top shelf. For such a premium price I’d really like to see more fitment options. I’ve spent well over $1,000 with them and find things that fit good, but not great. Which is unfortunate at this premium."

Nice jacket

"The jacket is warm and comfortable but I expected more for the price. It certainly isnt the quietest. Ill bring it with me in case it gets super cold but probably wont wear it while actually hunting. I would put this as a good value if it was $200. Didn't feel like I got my money's worth at $350. I wear XL in most brands, including Kuiu but it seems to run a little big, which can be a good thing so you can layer under it. Probably wont be layering any orange on top of it."

Not quiet but I love the fit

"I wouldn't bow hunt with it inside of 40yd but if you're 100yd+, the sound won't be an issue. I have bigger shoulders and there's plenty of room for layering. I could probably size down to a large if my shoulders and back were just a bit more narrow. The jacket has an athletic cut to it with sinches at the waist and two on the hood (nice touch on the hood). Will likely buy in more colors"

Great Jacket

"The jacket is comfortable and warm on the crisp early mornings and provides a perfect outer layer when glassing on cold days. Combined with Kuiu's layering system it is a great addition to my pack since it is packable and lightweight. Only drawback is tgat I am always a borderline size guy and it runs a touch long in the arms and its bulk for my size but I don't think a medium would've worked for me."

Does it hold up to brushing against trees bushes etc
Yes it is a durable jacket, but we recommend using caution around bushes with thorns
How would this jacket pair with one of the rain coats like the Yukon or chugach TR?
You would likely need to upsize the rain jacket if you planned to pair them together

Is this jacket quiet?
It is as quiet as can be expected for a soft shell, but isn't as quiet as something like the Kenai.
