Reviews

KUIU Axis Hybrid Pant

"The KUIU Axis Hybrid Pant is extremely comfortable, durable, and moves naturally during long days in the field. The wind and weather protection is excellent, while the fit stays flexible enough for hiking and active hunting."

Axis 5 day hunt in the back country

"Just finished up the utah general season elk hunt. My son was able to harvest his elk. It was a warmer season and normal. The mornings were frosty, and I wore just my axis pant, while riding a horse for about an hour and a half to get to the location, we were hunting. I was warm and comfortable in the freezing condition without thermals. While helping my youngest son, we crossed The Smiths fork river on foot. And the waterproof lower legs worked fantastic to keep the water from going over. My boots. I highly recommend the axis pant. The only thing that could make it better would be. If they added the knee pads like the talus pant"

Perfect backcountry hunting pant

"Just got back from a backcountry muzzleloader hunt in Utah between 8000-10,000ft. This was my go to hunting pant for the mornings and whenever it was windy conditions. Plan on using this also for rifle season. Just enough insulation to keep you warm without too much heat or weight. Well built! Bullet-proof on brush and downed timber. Great pockets...perfect stretch!"

— Brian P. (5/5)

You get what you pay for

"I absolutely love these pants. I have honestly gone through so many hunting suits in the last ten years. These pants feel great and look and feel really durable. So far so good on my end. Can’t wait to fill the wardrobe with KUIU. I wear a 34 waist in all my jeans. The 34 in KUIU seemed too tight, so I bumped up to a 36 waist. They fit great"

— Chad C. (5/5)

Excellent Hunting pants!

"Most comfortable, effective mid- to late-season pant I have! It’s warm, and you can move really easily with it. Highly recommend! I just had to size up one from my regular size, but not an issue, the customer service team were amazing about helping me get the right size at no additional costs."

— Marnus G. (5/5)

Poor design

"Like all the pants made by KUIU, they run small and short. There are a lot of zippered pockets, but they are poorly positioned and too small to be functional. For example, two small zippered front pockets are way too small, then they added 2 additional pockets on the left side instead having a cargo pocket on each thigh. Zippered vents on the outside of the hips which is poor placement as nobody’s hips sweat when hiking. And no leg zippers. The person who designed these pants obviously doesn’t spend time outdoors."

— Kevin S. (2/5)

Solid pant

"Really really solid pants. I’ve wanted these for years and finally pulled the trigger. Personally I don’t like the fit - waste is snug and the legs are baggy for my liking. 6’ 195 lbs - bought 34 regular. Would recommend."

— Alec V. (4/5)

Initial thoughts

"Haven't worn them other than initial try-on when they arrived. The quality and placement of all components that make up the pants is top notch. The seem a little shorter in length than I normally like my pants but the fit is apparently intentional and the next size up would be 4 inches longer in the inseam. Can't wait to wear them for 9 days in Northern AZ."

— Dustin P. (5/5)

Axis Hybrid

"Great pant! Durable, quiet, and the added waterproof sections are nice for the PNW. Only issue I ran into is sizing. I find that the pant runs small. I normally wear a 32x34 but I ended up having to exchange for a 34x34."

— Michael S. (5/5)

First hunt

"Had my first hunt the past four days … wore them lots. They’re light and comfortable. They fit very small around the waist and the heel will likely wear through from my boot. Water would come through a bit as it rained steady but they were more damp than wet"

— Nicholas m. (4/5)

Q&A

Why don’t you offer a shorter inseam in the guide dcs pants? I’m 5ft3 and 145 lbs and that’s where businesses lose customers by only offering one inseam length On a pair of pants, you lose customers instead of gaining that percentage of other hunters who are short and require a shorter length inseam I hope whoever runs KIUIU reads this personally And wants to gain that percentage of extra hunters
We appreciate your feedback, and will pass it on to our product development team for their consideration.
