Reviews

Awesome, light weight pants

"I like these pants. Extremely light weight but also pretty durable. I usually wear the Attack pants for early/mid season hunts, but the kutana might be my new go to for early season hunt/scouting trips. The material is very similar to the Born Primitive Frontier Light, but maybe a little more durable fabric than BP?"

Bad fit, worse customer service

"Fit is wrong, customer service is worse. Bought pants same waist as my other kuiu pants, yet they are much wider in the waist. Attempted to exchange but kuiu wants me to pay shipping back to their retail store in TX and won't perform an exchange because apparently their stores won't work together (I live in CO)"

Tough and light

"The kutana is a perfect blend of toughness and light weight. I love the attacks but they can be a little heavy for warmer temperatures. The kutanas are tougher and lighter than the attacks making them a perfect pant for on the go moving especially heavy brush. The shorts are great too"

These pants absolutely crushed it.

"I’m 5’10”, 185 pounds, and ordered a 32 waist with a 34 inseam, then had them hemmed to a 32.5 inseam. The fit was great. Wore them three days straight on a canoeing and camping trip in the Adirondacks, which is basically a hostile work environment for pants. They performed solidly both in and out of the canoe, comfortable paddling, scrambling around camp, and generally doing whatever questionable outdoor activities I got myself into. Three days, one pair of pants, zero complaints. At this point, I’m pretty sure the pants had a better trip than I did."

Like the pants, but too spendy

"Pros: Thinner fabric weight that allows some air to pass through, fabric durability, the deep front pockets, and thigh zips for venting. I like these pants well enough that I own two pairs. Cons: too pricey in my opinion to pay full price, and I'll only buy when on sale, wish the thigh zips were longer, and the K in the KUIU sticker logo is peeling off one pair already without wearing them all that much. If Outdoor Research made a thigh zip option in their Ferrosi pants, that's what I'd be buying instead. Intend to try Outdoor Vitals pants in the future as well."

Great Pants

"Worn once on a ruffed grouse hunt so far. Very light, seemed to hold up to the brush No snags in the material. Fit is good. Much better than faced jeans. My first pair of technical pants. Kuiu had them on sale so I finally launched. I don’t think I’ll be disappointed after further use."

5 star fence

"I'm embarrassed that this is the first time I've worn pants w side vents in them. I hike, climb, mountaineer etc. Why haven't i seen side zips in those arenas. Needless to say I'm not going back and i think Kuiu has it dialed in. The comfort of these pants is really incredible. And i have to mention the 31inch inseam is absolutely and incredible length to choose. The zippers and pulls are very lightweight to keep the pants the same. These are not grip and rip zippers so don't expect them to be then complain. Its a great color in the evergreen and the movement is fluid. They did get a little warm still hiking in low 70 deg heat, and the side vents that i love just didn't really dump out the heat as much as i would like maybe because of the mesh I'm not sure, you could just cut it out. (I have now also ordered the tiburon pants, they're on their way!!) Otherwise these are super nice pants extremely comfortable very glad i purchased them."

Size up, Fits Small

"Bought a pair of 34" waist 34" Inseam PRO PANTS. Love them, they fit perfect. Enough room to throw some long underwear on and still be loose and comfortable. Athletic Fit. Bought same size in the Kutana Stretch Woven pants and the legs are SKIN TIGHT! Huge difference. Don't understand why."

— Mike V. (3/5)

Great multi-purpose adventure and tactical pants!

"Very comfortable and durable. Tested great in summer and fall weather. Haven’t had the opportunity to try in cold weather yet. Fit and functionality are top-notch. Inseam was a little shorter than I expected for 34”, which was actually perfect for me. I though I was going to have to hem them, but they fit perfectly with boots!"

— Chad M. (5/5)

Another Winner

"Great fit. Solid construction and they seem to be pretty durable. I’m using these for a southern Arizona desert environment. That’s a bit more sparse and doesn’t really need the pick resistance from something like a Brush Pant. Everything out here tries to hurt you, so a little bit of protection over and above what the Tiburon would provide is helpful."
