The guides’ choice for breathable wind and weather protection
Built as a tough, all-purpose outer layer jacket for use in cool to cold conditions. The robust DWR coated Primeflex softshell resists wind and light rain or snow, yet offers more breathability than fully waterproof hard shells for better core temperature management. While slightly heavier than their hard shell counterparts, soft shells are quieter, more durable, and remain comfortable in a wider range of conditions than true raingear. The Guide DCS Jacket is cut to fit athletically as an outer-layer, allowing just enough room underneath for base and insulation pieces, while a rain jacket in the same size will also fit over the top when needed. As a bonus, the Guide DCS Jacket has gained popularity as an everyday casual wear item and is offered in multiple solid colors that blend in around town as well as on the mountain.

Primeflex™ by Toray
A Key Ingredient to Losing Four Pounds
Primeflex fabrics feature a patented spiral yarn technology that allows the yarn to stretch and recover without using heavy, water-absorbing elastics such as Lycra®. The result is more comfortable, higher-performance Primeflex fabrics that weigh about 40 percent less than comparable traditional fabrics.
Featured in all our Yukon, Chugach, Guide, Attack, Alpine, Northstar, and Peloton 130 styles.
Toray’s Kudos® XR DWR
Kudos® XR DWR (Durable Water-Repellent)
Kudos XR DWR performs better and lasts significantly longer than conventional DWR. DWR is critical for waterproof breathable face fabric. If DWR fails the face fabric “wets out” causing condensation build up on the inside of the garment.
